La Rosa Hotel is a destination for romance, escapism and fantasy. Situated in an elegant period townhouse on Whitby's West Cliff, our hotel was once a favourite of Lewis Carroll and boasts one of the finest views in the country... Facing us across the picturesque harbour are the ruins of Whitby Abbey, inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula. Each of our unique rooms have been lovingly designed using Whitby's rich heritage as inspiration. Furnished with thrift shop finds and carefully sourced antique kitsch, fun and opulence are high on the agenda throughout.
Our Victorian tearoom serves home made cakes and drinks and is available for private hire, as is the whole hotel - a perfect destination for family get togethers and celebrations. You won't find TVs or telephones in our rooms... La Rosa is a place to unwind and get away from it all. However, we do have a great selection of books, DVDs and vintage records available in our Cocktail Library for when the mist rolls in, as well as free wifi throughout the hotel.
ROOMS All our double rooms have en-suite facilities. As we are working to remove single use plastics from our business, we only provide hand made soap and a glass bottle of orange & cardamom bubble bath, so don't forget your favourite toiletries!
Breakfast is a continental hamper delivered to your room between 8:30am and 10:30am. Let us know when checking in if you have any dietary requirements and what time you would like your breakfast served.
CHILDREN We have a limited number of roll out futons for small children for an additional fee of £15 per bed, which includes breakfast. To make a reservation for children please book direct with the hotel on 01947 606 981. Children must accompanied by an adult at all times. Available in all rooms except Stoker, Little Red and Caravan. PETS Well behaved dogs are more than welcome to stay at La Rosa in the following rooms: Stoker, Saloon, Lewis, Crow's Nest There is a £10 charge per dog per night which includes a goody bag from Whitby's Fuzzy Dog Bakery. Dogs must not be left unattended. Maximum 2 dogs per room. PARKING On-street parking is available directly outside and in the general vicinity of the hotel. If you find a space in Disc Zone W, we can provide you with a scratch card which allows parking for up to 2 days for £2, 4 days for £4. Alternatively, Pay & Display spaces can be found nearby. Between November and April, on-street parking is free of charge in the pay & display zones.
